Adding, Editing, & Deleting Bookmarks
There are three
ways to add bookmarks to Group Menus in Alert Bookmarks.

You can have the
program retrieve the address of the current Web page from your
browser, then insert the bookmark in a Group Menu directly where you
want it, or...
-
You can use the
'Add From Browser' button to automatically add it as a bookmark at
the bottom of a Group Menu, or...
- You can type
the bookmark in yourself by clicking 'Add' and entering it into the
Bookmark Editor.
Adding A Bookmark From The Current
Web Page:
To add a bookmark
for the page currently showing in your browser, simply select the
Group Menu you wish to add the Web page's address to, then you can :

Right-click the
list of bookmarks with your mouse at the position you want the new
bookmark to go, then select 'Insert Bookmark from Browser'
from the PopUp Menu.

Alternatively, you
can add a bookmark by clicking the 'Add From Browser' button
at the top of any Group Menu. If another bookmark is selected when
you click the button, the new bookmark will be inserted above that
bookmark. Otherwise the new bookmark will be added at the end of the
Group Menu.

Adding A Bookmark By Typing It In:
As shown above, to
type in a URL and Title for a bookmark you add yourself, just click
the 'Add' button on the Group Menu you wish to add it to. The Bookmark
Editor window will appear as shown at below right:

From this window,
select the Type of bookmark this bookmark will be as follows:

Web Page:
If your bookmark is for a Web page or site, or other resource from
the Web, click the 'Web Page' tab. Then...

Type the URL
(address) of the bookmarked resource in the text box entitled 'Document
URL'.

Type a title or
name for the bookmark in the text box entitled 'Document Title'.

In the 'Comments'
text box, you can type in a description of this bookmark (or the Web
page it represents).

Email: If
your bookmark is to be an email address, click the 'Email tab. Then...
-
Type the email
address of the person you are bookmarking into the 'Email Address'
text box. The email address must contain the "@" character
and at least one "." character.

Type the person's
name or a nickname that you'll recognize into the 'Full Name'
text box for this bookmark.

In the 'Comments'
text box, you can type in a description of this bookmark (or the Web
page it represents).

Keyword: If
your browser supports Keywords (ie. AOL, CompuServe, etc...), click
this tab. Then...
-
Type the keyword
into the 'Keyword' text box exactly as your browser requires
it to appear, for example "billing".

Type in a
description for this keyword in the 'Description' text box
that you'll recognize for this bookmark, for example "AOL Billing".

In the 'Comments'
text box, you can type in a description of this bookmark (or the Web
page it represents).

Program:
You can launch programs that are on your computer with Alert
Bookmarks when using this tab.

Click the 'Browse'
button to locate the program's EXE file on your hard drive. The path
and file name will then appear in the 'Program Path' text box.

Type in the name
of this program into the 'Program Title' text box.

For advanced
users, there is also a 'Command Line' text box where you enter
any parameters you wish to send to the program when it is launched.
When you've
finished typing in all the information for the bookmark, click the 'Save
& Close' button and your new bookmark will be added to the
Group Menu you selected.
Editing Bookmarks That Already Exist:
-
Move your mouse
pointer over the bookmark you wish to edit, then click on that
bookmark using the right mouse button.

From the Group
Popup Menu that appears, click on 'Edit Bookmark' in the
'Bookmarks' submenu.

The Bookmark
Editor will appear as shown at right, with all the information for
that bookmark displayed and ready to edit.

To delete a
bookmark from the Bookmark Editor, click the 'Delete' button.

To move to the
next or previous bookmark in the Group Menu you are using, click the 'Next'
or 'Previous' buttons. This will allow you to edit several
bookmarks using the Bookmark Editor window without closing it after
each edit.

When you've
finished editing, to click the 'Save & Close' button close
the Bookmark Editor.
Deleting
Bookmarks:
To delete a
single bookmark:
-
Click on the
bookmark with your right mouse button to bring up the Group
Popup Menu, then move your mouse button over the 'Bookmarks' Submenu.

Now click 'Delete'
and the bookmark will be deleted.
To delete a
selected bookmarks (more than one):
-
Select the
bookmarks that you wish to delete by holding down the CTRL key
on your keyboard and clicking on the bookmarks one at a time using
the left mouse button.

Click on one of
the selected bookmarks with your right mouse button to bring
up the Group Popup Menu.

Click 'Delete'
from the 'Bookmarks' section of the PopUp Menu, then click 'Yes'
on the window that pops up to confirm your deletion.
To delete ALL
of the bookmarks in a Group Menu:

Right click on a
bookmark in the Group Menu, then click on the 'Select All' option in
the Group Menu PopUp Menu under 'Bookmarks'.

Now click on one
of the selected bookmarks with your right mouse button to
bring up the Group Popup Menu.

From the
'Bookmarks' submenu, click 'Delete', then click 'Yes'
on the window that pops up to confirm your deletion.
