Toolbar Password Protection

To protect your toolbars with a password you must first enable Toolbar Password Protection by opening the Preferences Window and clicking the Enable Toolbar Password Protection check box.

A window will appear requesting that you enter a Master Password:

Enter your Master Password twice in this window, once in the top text box and again in the bottom one to confirm. Passwords must be at least four characters and no more than 10 characters in total length.

Note: REMEMBER your Master Password by writing it down and storing it somewhere safe!

After you enter your Master Password, Toolbar Password Protection is enabled for your toolbars.

To protect a toolbar:

  • Open the Bookmark Control Panel.

  • Highlight the Toolbar you want to Password Protect by clicking on the name of that Toolbar in the list on the right side of the Control Panel.

  • Click the 'Enabled' check box in the 'Password Protection' box:

  • In the window that appears (as shown below), identify yourself by entering your Master Password.

  • Click 'Okay' on the Master Password Window after entering your Master Password.

  • Now in the text box labeled 'Enter Password:', type in a password for the toolbar you have selected (4 to 10 characters), then click the 'Apply' button. The 'Password Protection' box will change as shown below:

Password Protection affects only one toolbar at a time, and each toolbar is protected with its own password. You can use the same password for all protected toolbars or use a different password for each.

To Disable Password Protection on a Toolbar:

  • Highlight the Toolbar whose Password Protection you want to disable by clicking on the name of that Toolbar in the list on the right side of the Control Panel.

  • Click the 'Enabled' check box in the 'Password Protection' box.

  • Enter your Master Password and click okay.

  • Password Protection for that toolbar is now disabled.

 

To DISABLE all Password Protection, just click the check box again, enter your Master Password, and all toolbars will revert to UN-protected mode.
